Lots of good news!

A lot has happened since the last post. The doctor's ordered Jackson and Brady to begin nursing for real. Brady is doing really well with it. He actually got an entire feeding in last night, which means he didn't have to be fed through the feeding tube that time. Today, he got about 1/3 of his feeding through nursing. That is awesome for their age. Jackson is a little baffled by the nursing thing. He gets tired very easily, so he is a little behind Brady.

They are both gaining lots of weight. Each day they gain about 1 or 2 ounces. Jackson is now weighing about 4 lbs 3 ozs and Brady is weighing about 4 lbs 7 ozs. They are both well over their birth weights and heading towards 5 lbs. How exciting!

Probably the biggest accomplishment this week is that they were moved out of their incubators and into a crib together. They are able to maintain their temperatures without any help! They really seem to enjoy being in the crib together; they like to touch each others' face. The crib is also much more convenient than the incubator, because instead of changing their clothes and diapers through two tiny holes, we have room in the crib to really work. The boys get changed often, because they like to pee all over themselves. Almost every time they get changed, they pee everywhere the minute we uncover them. We have tried holding the diaper over them or putting a wipe over them, but we have to uncover them to put the new diaper on. Sometimes they pee in the new diaper too. The nurses think it's funny! The boys both have a rash because of the many diaper changes. What stinkers!

The nurses think they could be home by Valentine's Day. What a great present that would be!
